New Internet Filter: What's Next
Update on 9/18/17
iBoss support continued to work on their issue over the weekend to meet the deadline I imposed on them. We will be testing with a handful of students tonight. Testing during the day at public wifi and student homes has shown everything works fine, but at night is when slowness occurs.

Update on 9/14/17
We have establish plans with both Securly and Lightspeed after the meetings today. We are testing Securly over the next few days to determine if it will meet our needs.

We will be giving iBoss a deadline to get it fixed while we work with Securly and Lightspeed to get their solutions running.

CMT has a 10:00 a.m. appointment with Securly to configure their internet filter system.
CMT has a 2:00 p.m. appointment with Lightspeed to discuss a plan to use their solution.

Note: SACS started using Lightspeed in 2008. With some issues over the past few years it was decided to research other internet filters to provide a filter that would eliminate our issues and provide additional benefits. These include additional internet capacity [more bandwidth] and redundant internet hardware to increase the number of connections and speed while virtually eliminating internet outages.

Since home filtering has been disabled, K-8 students must leave their laptops or iPads at school.

CMT is devoted to get a filter in place and working so all students may take home their devices as soon as possible.
