We Hear You

Southwest Allen County Schools (SACS) believes family and engagement are important components for student success. The engagement of parents, families and community members in the education of our children creates a positive bond between the home, the school and the community.

SACS works to:

  • Make engagement a priority
  • Communicate proactively in the community
  • Listen to the community and respond to its feedback
  • Offer meaningful opportunities to participate
  • Encourage supporters to be leaders and advocates

Community Dialogues

In 2017, SACS invited the community to several public meetings seeking input from them as to what they would like to see for the next 20-30 years in SACS facilities, maintenance and capital projects/improvements plans. 

Over the course of these meetings, more than 140 community members participated in these dialogues helping SACS plan for its future.

In 2015, through stakeholder interviews, deliberative forums, and surveys, our community helped define what the role of public schools in the 21st Century education looked like for SACS students.

Communication
In 2016, SACS sought input via a survey about SACS Communication with hopes to better understand our communities' preferences and better align SACS practices to meet those needs.

More than 3,800 people responded providing SACS with valuable information helping guide us in an overhaul of our website and communication platforms.
