Flu Shots 2020

SACS Staff Flu Shots
2020

We are pleased to announce that we will once again be offering flu shots this year.  The shots will be given on October 21 and October 28th from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.  All our staff, their dependents and our Retirees are welcome.  Please note that dependents must be age 18 or older to receive a shot.  If you participate in the SACS medical plan, the shots are FREE.  If you do not participate in the SACS medical plan, the cost for the shot will be $27.00.

This year, to allow us to social distance, we're asking you to enter the building through DOOR #19 which is located on the south side of the building. You will then exit the clinic through Door #18

In an effort to minimize the wait time, we have suggested the dates and times that you should sign-up for your flu shot.  However, if you cannot attend during your designated time, you may attend at another time.  Please review the schedule below and follow these steps to receive your flu shot.

  1. Sign-up by clicking here.
  2.  On the day of your shot, you must sign a Release Form, which will be available at the clinic when you arrive.
  3. If you participate in SACS medical plan, you must show your insurance card to confirm coverage.
  4. If you do NOT participate in SACS medical plan, you must pay $27.00.  (Please bring the correct change or a check payable to SACS.)

Please review the important information below regarding the flu shot.

  • THE VACCINE - This is a sterile product for intramuscular injection composed of antigens of the strains of influenza virus recommended for vaccine use during the 2020-21 season by the U.S. Center for Disease Control.
  • RISKS AND POSSIBLE SIDE REACTIONS - Side effects of influenza vaccine are generally mild in adults and occur at low frequency.  These reactions consist of tenderness at the injection site, fever, myalgia, malaise and muscle aches.  These symptoms occur within 6-12 hours after immunization and last up to 48 hours.
  • PERSONS WHO HAVE A SEVERE ALLERGIC REACTION TO EGGS SHOULD NOT RECEIVE THIS VACCINE.
  • PERSONS WITH FEVER OR ACTIVE INFECTION OF ANY KIND SHOULD NOT RECEIVE THIS VACCINE.  Persons who have received another type of vaccine within the past fourteen days should contact their personal physician before receiving this vaccine.
