    Substitute Teachers

    SACS recognizes the vital role substitute teachers play in keeping the learning momentum going for our students in the event a classroom teacher is out for one day or for an extended time period.

    If you are looking to make a positive impact on young peoples' lives consider becoming a SACS Substitute Teacher.

    SACS Substitutes can expect:

    • Full/partial day assignments available
    • Sub Teacher Permit = $100
    • Teaching License = $110
    • SACS retired teacher rate = $120
    • School/grade level preferences honored
    • Administrator, staff and school support throughout assignment
    • Technology supplied and supported
    • Flexibility - You choose your availability
    • SACS Expectations for Substitutes: 
    • A strong desire to help kids thrive.
    • A High School Diploma/GED.
    • Applicant must obtain an expanded criminal history at a minimum cost of $25. (Instructions will be provided upon hire.)

  • Bus Driver 

    School bus drivers are tasked with the vital responsibility of protecting children on their way to and from school. In fact, bus drivers are the most highly trained, tested and scrutinized drivers on the road, ensuring students are picked up and arrive at school on time, and return home safely every school day. 

    If you are looking for a flexible position with paid FULL benefits, consider driving for SACS. 

    Driver Requirements: 

    • Must currently hold a valid driver’s license.
    • Must pass a physical
    • Must be able to complete SACS provided training and be able to obtain a CDL license and Indiana certification as a bus driver. We HELP with that!
    • Need the ability to work and communicate effectively
    • Must be flexible and patient with students of all ages

    *Typical work hours are approximately 6:45 am - 9:15 am and 1:45 pm - 4:15 pm

    * Bus Drivers are eligible for Full Benefits. This includes; medical, dental, vision, Long-term Disability Insurance, PERF, 2.5% 401(a) matching and Life Insurance.

  • Instructional Assistant: Special Needs

     

    Description: Acts as an extension of the classroom Teacher. May work individually with students in order to meet their needs.
    Requirements: Must be patient and have a desire to work with our kiddos. Some positions require only a high school diploma while others require 2 years of post secondary school or the ability to pass the ParaPro Assessment exam. Intense Intervention must pass a 50 lbs. lift test.
    Hours: Mild Intervention: 5.5 hours/day; Intense Intervention: 5.5-7 hours/day. Instructional Assistants do not work during the summer months or on any days when school is not in session.
    Benefits: There are no benefits offered with this position. Positions with 6.5 + hours/day are eligible for medical coverage only.

  • Food Service Assistant

     

    Description: The primary objective is preparation and service of nutritional school meals. Each employee is part of our team with the common goal of serving our students delicious and nutritious school meals per the USDA regulations set forth. Meal programs must be served within the proper time limits. 
    Requirements: Operation of commercial dishwasher, training on and compliance in the use of cleaning chemicals, other necessary cleaning duties of the kitchen area, properly complete meal service on a cash register, putting away and organizing inventory, as well as additional duties assigned by the cafeteria manager.
    Hours:

    This is a 9 month position. Depending on location and staffing needs hours can range from 3.5 hours/day to 5 hours a day

    Benefits: Depending on hours, some positions are eligible for modified benefits.
