Drive and Consult
Drive and Consult
As early as 4 a.m., if the weather and road conditions are questionable, Transportation and school officials drive the district's boundaries to check the city and county conditions. SACS consults with these drivers as well as with local law enforcement and neighboring school districts to determine if conditions are safe for travel.

Decision Time
CLOSE? DELAY?
After careful consideration, the Superintendent will try to make the district’s decision by 5:30 a.m. It is the district’s preference to make one decision out of consideration for our staff and families who need to make accommodations for the day.
Announce & Communicate
SACS will communicate the delay/closing via:
- Email and Text Alerts

- SACS Facebook
- SACS Twitter

Remote or E-Learning
SACS will likely issue a Remote Learning Day if school cannot be in-person.
Remote Learning requires students to login from home during a specified time to receive direct instruction from teachers via Zoom when school is canceled.
An eLearning Day, where students learn from home at their own pace utilizing canvas, may be issued in the event of unforeseen situations or long-term cancellations.
